Parker had a rough night. Typically if she has episodes it's during her care time, however last night was out of the ordinary for her. They raised her Nitric Oxide settings that they were starting to wean lower by 4X the amount. Several test were performed and fluid was noticed in her right lung which would lead to a chest tube being placed for fluid removal (40ml was removed and sent to the lab for further testing). She was placed on prophylactic antibiotics. Her echo results showed a shrinkage in her PDA, it's now considered small. During our stay at Conemaugh, the doctors had prepared us for the possibility of Parker needing to be transferred due to her eyes needing additional assessment and intervention. This is common for a preterm baby that receives excess oxygen. She is off the Fentanyl and placed on a Morphine drip.
